Good week, reunite with family from Portugal, hike to Frankenstein's castle

This week we found a new investigator family from Portugal! They are super sweet and they don't speak a ton of English, but I had met him a long time ago. I had this feeling we need to go by so we went by to see him when I was on a split with Elder Domine. We went and they opened the door and originally they didn't remember me then I showed them the book in Portugues and they said, " ohhhhhh we remember, do you want some water.". So I said "Of course any excuse to get in their home!" We went in and they were in the middle of lunch the husband asks "do you want some lunch?" and then proceed to have his wife make us lunch!!! It was crazy, we introduced the Book of Mormon and he was hooked! He just kept reading and reading. It was cool how even though there was a language barrier, we could still communicate through the spirit. They said we could come back this week!!

What I loved from the General Conference was the fact that the best leaders are the best followers. I had never thought of it that way, that the more that we strive to follow Jesus Christ the better leaders we become. We show others how they don't have to follow us to find peace, they simple follow the example of Christ. It's kind of like clapping in an auditorium. It's not that we are clapping for ourselves but for what we have seen and experienced. As we begin clapping and rejoicing we give other people the right who are sometimes, more shy, the right to share their joy and so on and so on. It great, it has changed my total perspective on leadership. I have really gained a trust and love for the people of Germany like Elder Uchtdorf said "the celestial language" its really true though, old english is german grammar, if you ever want to understand the bible, learn to read German. My last favorite was the simplicity of President Monson's talk, if the prophet can give the message from God in 5 minutes, how often am I submitting my will to the lords will when I speak. I think we can spend a lot less time talkimg and trust that the spirit will speak the rest. Something I am working on!

Mom thank you so much for organizing everything and making things so much easier for me when I come home. I'm so excited to see all of you again and being able to hug you! It will be a joyous reunion. But first I have a few more things here in Germany that my Heavenly father wants me to do.

Love you

Elder White
