Well this week was weird not going to lie, we sent a leaver group home since this week was transfers. Everything was a little strange mainly because we had all of the days back to back and so we got new missionaries and then a day later we were helping send all of the leaving missionaries home. It gets a little crazy sometimes but its all good!!
This week I have had some repenting to do because I just felt like lately I haven't been giving it my all. I was still doing everything I was suppose to be doing, I just felt like my heart wasn't in it! So Elder Fitzgerald and I sat down and talked about what we could do better. it was cool because we came up with a cool system for keeping ourselves focused and not just going through the motions. I put a sign on the door that we look at that says "one more!" meaning that whatever we are doing we always do one more of it, whether it is contacting for baptizing, we always reach for above and beyond. It reminds me a lot of lifting and working out, you always think "after 10 reps i have fought the good fight, but then when someone says hey you can do one more, you set out of your comfort zone. Their is a quote by an apostle goes "in order to go places we have never gone before, we need to do things we have never done before." That is what I plan to do, I need one more baptism to complete my goal and all I need to do is give my very best.
Well I have two miracle stories I want to share:
1
We finally set a baptismal date with Francisco, it is for the 28th of May!! We brought Sascha Sandner with us to the lesson and it was way awesome. Francisco was able to ask very direct questions about commandments to Sascha because he knows that Sascha has always had the same issues. So Sascha explained the Word of Wisdom so well and he was really the perfect person to help teach the lesson. Because I think without the support from Sascha, Francisco would not have felt the power of the spirit that he could keep the commandments and make himself ready for his baptism. The spirit was so strong and we sat in awe as we watched Sascha explain the gospel of Jesus hCrist with such clarity and simplicity. You could just look at him and see that he was truly converted! It was a powerful lesson and by the grace of God we were able to set the date. What a cool experience, I have stood in awe as the lord has sent us prepared person after person! I never thought I would have the privilege of seeing so many miracles. it has taught me truly to give all the glory to the lord and never allow pride to enter my heart. It has truly increased my testimony setting goals and priorities with Lord. When he is guiding us we will not fail.
2
We received a referral from church headquarters about visiting a man. We received in the middle of Transfer week so we had no opportunity to go by on him. One morning, I felt this urgency to visit the referral. So we starting head over to the area at about 2pm which is a horrible time to go by on someone. But we did it anyways. We got to the home, we said a prayer before we got out of the car. But then Elder Fitzgerald said something "hey could this guy be related to someone in our ward?" I thought to myself, "yeah it could be". Then all of the sudden we looked up and saw Bruder S. walking out of the house. We were really confused, but finally put the puzzle pieces together, it was the brother from Bruder S. We talked it out for minute, then jumped out of the car. The brother tried to hide himself, but I walked up and introduced ourselves and gave him the book. Turns out he has referred himself online and wanted a Book of Mormon. He had been harassing his brother for years about being a member and lately has been throwing anti Mormon literature at him. But looks like he finally got the courage to get a Book of Mormon. It was great because Bruder S. was there too! I think his brother wanted to make it a secret, but the Lord had a different plan for him! We later were talking with the other Elders and told them about the experiences. They started freaking out saying " we had that referral too! We have been trying to go by for weeks!! He is never home!!" Truly the lord lead us to him at the exact time when his brother would be there, hopefully he feels the spirit of the book of Mormon, but at the least hopefully he can learn to respect his younger brother and his beliefs.
Overall a great of growing and learning about missionary work and how to give everything I have to the lord in these last few months. It has been a good wake-up call for me and has taught me that it isn't over till the Lord says so, even when I am released the Lords work simply doesn't stop, it continues, it will move forward and I have seen it for myself, Germany is going to be one of the most spiritually powerfully countries one day, the prophesies are true that one day Germany will have temples lining the Rhein, members will fill the chapels and people will finally come home!!
I love this work
